Chili con Carne

Ingredients

• 1 lb Onion medium diced
• 1 tbl vegetable oil
• 1/2 o.z. Garlic, chopped
• 2 1/2 lb ground beef
• 2 lb Crushed Tomatoes
• 4 lb Diced Tomatoes
• 4 o.z. Tomato paste
• 1 pt Beef broth
• 1 o.z. chili powder
• 2 tsp Cumin, ground
• 4 ea BAy leaves
• tsp salt
• tsp Black pepper
• 12 o.z. Kidney beans

Directions

• Saute the onions in the oil until tender, Add the garlic and saute
• one minute.
• Add the beef and brown, stirring occasionally. Drain off the excess
• fat.
• Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a simmer, cover and cook for
• 1 hour.
• Remove the bay leaves and adjust the seasonings.
