Mexican Luncheon Dish

Ingredients

• 1 lb ground round steak
• 1 green pepper, chopped
• 1 lge onion, chopped
• 1 tbs butter or margarine
• 4 cups tomatoes
• 1 No. 2 can kidney beans
• 1 cup diced carrots
• 1 can mushrooms
• 1 cup rice (uncooked)
• 1/3 cup sugar
• Dash of chili powder
• Salt & pepper

Directions

• Brown ground meat, green pepper and onion in butter or margarine.
• Add tomatoes, kidney beans, carrots, mushrooms, rice, chili
• powder, sugar, salt, peper to taste.
• Cover and cook over High heat for 6 minutes, or until steaming.
• Turn switch to low or warm and allow to cook for 20 to 25
• minutes.
• Serve with buttered peas, garlic bread, cole slaw; with jelly
• roll for desert.
